quote :Dear Cookie creature,
Glad to hear that you are encouraged from my reply. In fact, on reflection, I was just like you a year ago, wondering did I make the right move to send my son there.
However, after attending his Thanksgiving last Friday, I realise it has been a wise choice though. He has make lots of friends that that is outside his Fairfield class. Some friends are really not that easy-going with him in the beginning of the year, but now I witness on last friday they were good buddies. These friends during the beginning of the year can challenge and disturb him, however through the days, weeks and months together, my son learns how to intergrate with them and discern the rights and wrongs from them. Therefore, I will say he picks up great social skills here that a normal academic class is not able to provide.
As the new school year is going to start, a piece of advice from me, as parent learn to listen and chat with them more about their days spent in Aldersgate than in Fairfield, you will find more interesting and life skills to hear from them. My son told me he shares his tube of orea cookies he brought from home to Aldersgate with that friend he dislikes in the beginning of the year. I was delighted to understand that my son knows what is the meaning of forgiveness.
Hi PL,
I was in Fairfield for P1 for the 1st 3 days.... I am amazed how my daughter put up a brave front although I know that she is scared. I weeped instead (ha ha ha). She told me that in the classroom she is seated with another gal who 'shouted' at her and she said that \"this mean gal is also my partner in aldergates\". I prayed with her and told her that if she cannot handle, speak to her form teacher but I think she dare not. I will ask her tonight if the 'shouting' has ceased as today in Aldergates, there will be power time and I think they will touchbase on appropriate behavour and hope this work... (am thinking if not getting better, I may have to address this to her form teacher and Aldergate teacher).
Having said above I am v glad that you told me that your son overcome the challenges which I want my daughter to do the same (she looks so frail and so weak and I know that I cannot be too protective).

RE: Fairfield Methodist Primary
PL:
Thank you so much for your wise advise. I am rest assured after reading your message. My Girl will be attending P1 next year and will be under the care of Aldersgate.twinklemint:
Hi can I have some feedback on the after school care provided by Aldersgate ?
My son is in pri one this year and he is attending the after school care at Aldersgate. I find that my son has become more independent and self discipline.
But be prepared that your kid will pick up a few bad habits like bad speeches, all this must be corrected reinforced by the parent.
Nevertheless it is a good place for them to learn to have more EQ too.
Overall, it is a good and safe place to leave our kids for after schoolcare, what's more my son enjoy the weekly powertime on friday (worship and bible time in the church). -

Hello CarolTansn,Hello
My ds will be P1 in FMPS 2011. Really thank God
for securing him there... 'cos although we are under Phase 2B, we still have to go through balloting process... And it's 50% chance only.
We received a letter and it has \"House\" indicated. Is this the one we base on to purchase PE attire? Or do we have to wait till orientation day to know which class he is?
Anyone has any idea how much will school bus costs from Bukit Batok/Jurong to FMPS and return?
I went thru the same experience as you udner 2B but thank God that her name was the 1st to be called. I just went to the school to purchase the testbook and uniform. No crowded at all. I think we can safely buy 2 set of PE attire and I bought 3 set of the uniform since my helper is going back to Philippines in jan and I have no intention to get another helper (my daughter will be in Aldergates). The \"house' represent the class I believe, she is with 'Martin'. -
RE: All About Full-Time Maids
Dear Insider,
Thanks for your advise. I will look into it on the spycam option. As for the insurance portion, I believe we are covered however, good that you remind me to check. Thanks alot insider. -
RE: All About Full-Time Maids
I really long to be able to live \"maid-free\".... Don't really like to manage maids cos they're really unpredictable....
I have the same sediment. Though maid is useful and it helps to lighten alot of house chore but the managing part do require some practise and need some emotional preparation. My helper joined us in may and my 2 kids just join full day child care. Our maid is all alone by hereself during this time.
I have to worry that she leave home w/out telling us even though we gave her clear instruction to call us if she needs to leave the house. -
RE: Little Neuro Tree
[Besides they have an inflexible policy of not allowing make-up classes, knowing that young children esp babies fall sick easily]
My 2 years old son is currently attending LNT (since jan 2009). I can choose not to send my son to LNT when he is ill, the school will refund $20 if you produce MC for the lesson that you missed. There is no replacement classes.
Whereas my 5 years old daughter who is currently attending SM, does not have such benefit, don’t mention about replacement classes.
Hence in this area I am happy with LNT policy. (You may like to call LNT to clarify on this doubt)
I would like to share my opinion on how I feel about LNT & SM.
I am a full time working mum. I used to think that as long as I send my kids to the best enrichment classes, I can relax because the expertists will coach my kids and my kids will excel in school.
I heard that SM is good for young kids of up to 6 years old, they can do wonders to our kids memory… Little did I realise that the so call superb result is obvious if we as a parent carried out home pratice.
I have an upperhand to compare both center but I choose to believe that both are good and both have their strengths. The main educator here is the parent ourselves.
My daughter has been attending SM since oct 2008 at age of 4+. I did not started home pratices until this year in June. I do see great improvement after that the regular home pratice. I must say that these are hardwork. -
RE: Shichida Right Brain Training - Discussion

My girl just started her 3rd term on June 15... and I cannot comment much on academic cos everything to me is still fresh and new... however, I can see that my girl really enjoy school and she look forward to going to C.C every day. In term of food and environment, you can be rest assured. During my 3 days trial with CC, I notice that the kids seems to have confidence as compared to mine child and they behave well and proper. you need to make appointment to view the center.Hi Cookiecreature,
i would like to hear your views on caterpillar cove if your kid is in the programme already.
thanks.
