In my opinion you should have a chat with her and tell her to give proper care to her baby as babies are very soft and innocent.

chibi:thanks DedicatedDad for your reply i thought of sending my son to playgrp when he reaches 20 months , but think i need to ease his stranger anxiety first. he can play with kids and adults, giggling and even hugging them but it is seriously a \" you better don't attempt to carry me. if not i will scream my head off!\" situation.my mum was saying, at least now when strangers talk to him he don't cry, letting pple he don't know carry him will take time. i read that stranger anxiety might peak from 12- 18 months.my dd1 had this too when she was a toddler, but it gets better when she grows up .My DS was cheerful when he was a baby/toddler but like yours, he would not allow strangers to carry him. He is a fine young boy now who is well-liked by adults and teachers. Do not over focus on his stranger anxiety as your concern might rub on him. Just continue showering him with love and maintain a close bonding with him. Continue to let him play with other kids and adults. Be there when he needs you

Want to ask mommies out there. Does formula milk cause allergies such as itchy eyes, blinking, skin rashes (off and on)? Do I need to put my 2yo gal on a hypoallergenic formula and what do you recommend? She was on NAN HA once as an infant but stopped as she rejected the taste. She is currently on Mamil Gold Step 3 (we changed many brands - similac, nan ha, s26, pediasure - coz she doesn’t seem to like any). Could an allergy to milk cause her to refuse milk? She has good bowel movements though but only drinks 120ml in the morning, 120ml after the nap (if at home) and another 180ml at night before sleep. It takes her ages to finish the milk. She also refuses to drink milk in school. Her weight seems acceptable as she eats well for her main meals and I give her supplements. I am just worried about the allergies since she is already proven allergic to a couple of other things.

Trina:My DD1 slept in cot in own room until she was 14 months. Then she refused to sleep there and caused so much chaos that we moved the cot to our room and she was fine after that. We got her a toddler beds to replace the cot when she was two and she remained there until 8!! Several times we got her to move to own room but her daddy missed her and persuaded her to move back with us!!!DD2 is now in cot in our room since we know that she will join us sooner or later.Interesting news or thing to read about this one. I sure hope that by now, things are really good and it would help out a lot. Thanks!

SAHM_TAN:kelvinA:Hi everyone. How old was your baby when they walked in their walkers?? My just turned 5 months is getting around so much she is dangerous. I just put her in it to sit down and she was in the kitchen within 2 secs. She goes back and side ways best and a little forward. Is that normal??and for her age? Thanks<Mod's Note>URL for Marketing Purpose and not related to this topic, has been removedI think it's normal, my kids will move backwards before they move forwards.Sorry, misread, thought you meant crawling

Can anyone recommend a reliable confinement lady with good hygiene? I am so scared of having to look after a newborn on my own. The last time I did it was 8 years ago and I can still remember the horror of dealing with a non-stop crying colicky baby all night. :!:

cherrygal: Hi Duriz,With Dr Ferber's sleep time adjustment technique, I successfully trained DD to sleep through from 11pm to 8am, without night feeds. It is tougher on us coz we need to play or carry her till quite late but at least we don't need to wake up in the middle of the night. My SIL's baby sleeps from 7pm to 7am (waking up for night feeds) but some say she's lucky coz she doesn't need to play with him and can have free time after 7pm. It depends on what you consider precious... free time for yourself earlier or undisrupted beauty sleep. I am still awake at 2am as I start my \"me time\" at 11pm... hahahaThanks cherrygal. :celebrate: I prefer DD to sleep at 9pm.She only has one nap in the day, anytime from 1-4pm, for about 2 hours.By 8pm, she's very tired and cranky. So we start her bedtime routine, warm bath, brush teeth, bedtime story, hugs and kisses, nursing then zzzz for me and her, no later than 9.30pm.Then DH is free to watch cable tv or surf the internet. As I get up at 7am to prepare to go to work, this is a good schedule for us. And I think good for her when she starts school as well.
