For speaking out the truth and showing what has been happening behind closed doors?

Even if he is not terminated by the company, I seriously doubt he wants to continue his intern there.

After seeing such abuse, who would want to continue working there...next target could well be this person. But this termination is unfair.

So do most interns suffer low pay and abuse???
Having a degree may not guarantee a good job but are employers willing to take in people who have no degree?
A degree opens the door for many, isn't this reality?

$100k for 3 years of abuse(assuming he was abused since day1) & underpaid like not worth leh. In normal circumstances, he should be able to earn about that amount in 3 years without the physical & mental abuse.

According to the above article, his internship at the company was only for 6 months. $500 per month for internship is normal. But what I don’t understand is why he chose to continue working at the company, drawing this ridiculously miserable $500 for subsequent 2.5 years! There is no employment contract drawn out, he has no bonus and NO annual leave.

Maybe all can try to ‘imagine’ what kind of upbringing this man had when he was young and what kind of social life he has been having for the past 29 years.


For cases like this, I tend to put the original culprits as his parents, who never groom him enough to know about what pride and dignity are, for not having to know that their ONLY son was going through this kind of working life with that kind of salary.

The parents may have doted on him a lot but if in the process of doting, they groom a ‘softie’, then all have to do reflections. His dad maybe someone abusive as well, abusing his mum who tolerates the abuse silently. Many possibilties here that only they know what would have caused the only son to become like this. (excuse my plain speculations)

I tend to see from a wider angle, that maybe have to be ‘thankful’ of this evil supervisor who brought out this man’s probable psychological problems (which I believe are deep deep ones) and perhaps enable the parents to seek help for him as soon as possible before this man go further haywire (to suicide) if the parents can see beyond the hurts caused.

It seems to me that this man is ‘used to’ abuse and perhaps may ‘enjoy’ it. He needs help from professionals… (it’s just plain ‘abnormal’ if parents still need to stand out for a 29-year-old ‘child’ as like parents standing out for kiddos in primary schools.)
