I thought the ball nos. go via birth cert no.? Or is each school allowed to determine how to assign ball nos.?Hi ,
In all fairness, the balls nos are also randomly placed that is not in alpabetical order. -

I'm sorry you had to move on to Phase 2C(S). But miracles happen more often than you think. A number of my friends were called by their waitlisted schools late in December with the offer to transfer. It might just happen for you. In the meantime, just try to get a school in Phase 2C(S).... Thanks all. Now have to think alternative.
Have filled up wait list but chances are minimal. Who will want transfer their child out. -
pirate:
It goes by birth cert. Effectively random.

No lah. Effectively dependent on when the child is born. Unless born overseas, then have large no. -
Celynn:
Didn't get in in the balloting.

:snuggles: It only hurts a while. The pain goes away when you see your child enjoying and loving the primary school you will get for him in Phase 2C(S). -
pirate:
Are you saying its a non-random way of assigning numbers to the children? If so there should be a correlation between month of birth and probability of being picked in the ballot. Is this the case?XXXX:

For my case, during the registration, we were asked to fill in the P1 registration form. This form has a q-num attached to it. This q-num was the same number that we were assigned for the ball num.

Yes, can walk in to fill the form. But call school to chk time that school gate is open for visitor and if their balloting session for P2C is over.
ryes,
So can walk in to fill out wait list form?ryes:
ryes,
Now that P2C is over, you can also fill up the waitlist for the other school that you were considering.
It's ok to put in more than 1 waitlist.
Can I ask if anyone knows, so many on wait list. Who will the sch choose to call
My 2c sup sch also must ballot. How!!!
If you are going for a school that's going to ballot at P2Cs, pls have a school as your back-up that is around your area that will definitely have vacancies for Phase 3. It is one thing to travel a great distance for a school that you preferred, it's another thing to do the travelling for a school that you do not prefer.
All the best. -

This q-num was the same number that we were assigned for the ball num.
maybe different schools has different methods to assign ballot nos. I was the 2nd to register for Phase 2B but DS ball no is 21 and our surname starts w C . wasn't too sure if it is by birth cert no too.
