Wow last to be picked ! Congrats !!Hi ,
In all fairness, the balls nos are also randomly placed that is not in alpabetical order. At the start, the spinner also lay out the instruction from MOE on the spining method. She is to spin gently clockwise 3 rounds and then anticlockwise to catch the ball. Hence, it really boils down to luck as to what is the number ( or banding ) that your child's ball is. So, MOE may want to tweak the instructions to the school to give the cage a few hard spins as those who have seen the balloting will testify that the balls in the middle does have a higher probability of getting chosen.
DS ball was the last to be picked. He was no, 21 out of 28 nos just slightly out of the middle band. -

Basically speak or remain silent forever.
Exactly! You wouldn't want to say to your partner, \"Too bad we missed out, I could actually see that our ball was never going to be selected in this draw, but hey-ho the system is statistically fair over all so what more could we have done?\" Partner: \" :censored: :censored: :censored:  \" -
Xxxx,
For goodness sake ! I am referring to few parents here not only YOU please !!! -

I thought the ball nos. go via birth cert no.? Or is each school allowed to determine how to assign ball nos.?Hi ,

I'm sorry you had to move on to Phase 2C(S). But miracles happen more often than you think. A number of my friends were called by their waitlisted schools late in December with the offer to transfer. It might just happen for you. In the meantime, just try to get a school in Phase 2C(S).... Thanks all. Now have to think alternative.
Have filled up wait list but chances are minimal. Who will want transfer their child out. -

It goes by birth cert. Effectively random.

No lah. Effectively dependent on when the child is born. Unless born overseas, then have large no. -
Celynn:
Didn't get in in the balloting.

:snuggles: It only hurts a while. The pain goes away when you see your child enjoying and loving the primary school you will get for him in Phase 2C(S). -
pirate:
Are you saying its a non-random way of assigning numbers to the children? If so there should be a correlation between month of birth and probability of being picked in the ballot. Is this the case?XXXX:

For my case, during the registration, we were asked to fill in the P1 registration form. This form has a q-num attached to it. This q-num was the same number that we were assigned for the ball num.
