zbear:
Is your dd taking A levels this year or next?
Next year... Uni starting in Aug-16. -
DadofGirl, your dd scored ABC/C for her recent CT exams? Isnβt that very good?

DadofGirl, your dd scored ABC/C for her recent CT exams? Isn't that very good?
No ... her best score is in GP(B) & Rest C or below. Managed to pass all with one subject E.
Looks like Promo no problem & thereafter some improvement with ultimate score of ABC/C.
That won't get her in good uni here

DadOfGirl:
Just keep working and hope for the best. My daughter's partial results are currently 2 fails and 1 scrape (in her H1!). Still waiting for the rest of the results. We have a long, long road ahead. I dare not even estimate what her eventual results might be.jtoh:

I think its too early to worry abt A level results n her chances of entering good U.
Its just the start of JC1 n they havent got the hang of the standards.
I believe by the time they reach A level exams next year, they will be more prepared.
All our girls here are in the same boat!!!! -
DadOfGirl:
DadofGirl, this projected A level results is by your own estimate or the school's? I believe all JCs try to give killer papers to the students in CTs and Promos to wake them up to the prospect of the A levels, which is mere months away.jtoh:

Imo....it's too early to worry now as this is only their first CT...
They will def get better results when comes to their A level exams next yr...
Dont forget, there will be moderation...
Does the sch realease the cohort stats or class stats ? From there, u can hv a better gauge where yr gal stands.... -

ABB/C have chance to enter NUS-FASS based on the 2013-2014 data:Time is flying for this year JC parents networking group..Both MT & PW will end this Oct, so you are left with 4 subjects+GP to focus on for next 8 months. If you score not so well let's say ABCC what are chances of securing Place in local uni for following courses ARTs degree.
1) NUS-FASS - Remote chance
2) SMU-ECON- Remote
3) SMU-Social science- Remote
4) NTU- Phycology-Remote
5) NIE- ARTs -Fair chance
6) SUTD- Humanities program -Fair chance
MY DD dun want to do Accountancy/Bus admin , though she has H2 maths... does it mean, we have to plan for Aussie uni education
http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/gradeprofile/ ... e-igp.html
In 2012-2013, the 10th percentile was BBB/B for NUS-FASS. I have archived the 2012-2013 cut off point on my website: http://mathtuition88.com/2013/11/13/a-l ... enter-nus/
Hope it helps.
