Do most sec 1 students in your school have a cellphone?
So if you assume we follow the usual recommendation of sleeping at 9pm, that would be around 7-9 hours of sleep (depending on how far your house is from the school)
In my school, yes, a huge majority of Sec 1 students bring their cellphones. (Maybe only 1 or 0 students in each class does not bring a cellphone). If you mean have, everyone will have, but there will be some students that won't bring. -

Hope your child enjoy a fulfilling secondary school journey. All the best. :rahrah:

The Secondary 1 posting results will be released next Tuesday (Dec 22) at 9am, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced.
The posting results can be accessed through the following channels:
- Short Messaging System (SMS) text messaging, if it was provided during the application process
- S1 Internet System; or
- At the student's primary school
In previous years, students would report to their posted secondary schools on the next working day after receiving the information. In light of the COVID-19 situation, students do not need to physically report to their posted secondary schools this year, said MOE.
Instead, students should refer to their posted schools’ websites from Dec 22 for more information such as instructions on the online purchase of books and uniforms, booklist, and the reporting details.
Parents of the incoming Secondary 1 cohort who are on Parents Gateway will also receive instructions from the posted schools from the afternoon of Dec 22.
\"If students are unable to report to their posted secondary school on the first day of school on Jan 4, 2021 due to valid reasons, they may contact their posted secondary school directly to confirm that they are taking up the place, and the school will be able to reserve the place for them,\" MOE added.
Parents and students may refer to MOE's website for more information.

What do you mean hp? As in the computer? I will assume you mean the hp computers.
Are you allowed to use hp in class?
It really depends on the school, level and stream. In my school, NT students will use the hp computers a lot in their Upper Sec years to prepare for CPA practical. The Express and NA students in my school rarely use the hp computers, if I remember, I only used it five times this year. For my school, during Music lessons we will use a Surface Pro instead. Some schools may offer O Level Computing which has a practical component, which will increase the use of computers in those schools (I'm unsure if they use hp computers since my school don't offer Computing).
From what I see, Music, PW, and CPA (CPA is NT only) are the subjects that will most likely require students to make use of the computers. Sorry I can't give much information, but this is what I observed and concluded. -

This depends on school policy, but I believe most schools do not allow the use of phone in class. For DS school, lockers are provided for all the students. They are supposed to keep their phones in the lockers during school hours, including recess.

Handphone are actively encouraged and allowed.
I believe the question is with regards to the use of handphone in class
Schools understand that sometimes pupils want to chat but don’t want to disturb others. Hence, it’s better to let them communicate among themselves via WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc. Teachers as well. Sometimes no voice, bad day... so better to type it out than speak.
Schools also recognize that some lessons are very boring and uninteresting. Students need stimulation in order to perform. On those occasions, they are allowed to play Roblox, Minecraft, Among Us or whatever they fancy (as long as they use a earpiece of course).
Last but no least, we all know students got important matters to attend to and need to answer that email / take the call. -
