Hi ds also has 209... having same problem on selecting reputable sch ard woodlands/yishun/bukit batok.... anybody can help... thks :?:

I'd recommend Bukit View, I'm from there. The teachers are hardworking and often stay back to help the weaker students. My school focuses a lot on the environment, so our CIP is often environment themed. I mentioned it before, but my class/school mates are one of the most hardworking people I've ever met, they also have the results to prove it! I think my school's strong CCAs are the dances and uniformed groups.

Hi youare_ugly.... thanks for your recommendation... i'll look into the sch profile...
No problem. Our Open House is tomorrow, going back to \"sell\" our school. *sigh*

        Got any hope? I kiasu.

No harm trying. What are your 2nd and 3rd choices.

2nd choice is HCI as it is far from my home.
        3rd choice is NJC.
I dont pick RI as my teacher said it was too 'cruel'
I think your chances of getting into Dunman High are fair, especially as it offers SBGE. Not sure about your chances at HCI though, as COP last year was 257. If you don't get DHS you're unlikely to get HCI.
The top scorer of 282 is very very very good. To have 3 points more than the 2nd top scorer is a lot in terms of raw score for easy papers. This guy must have gotten 100 marks for at least 2 papers and near perfect score for the rest.

COP for most schools should be higher this year.

\"COP for most schools should be higher this year\" - appreciate if you can elaborate the reason. 😄

Just my observation over the years.

When the papers are easy, top scorer will be around 280. When 1 or more papers are killer, top scorer will be more than 285.

When papers are easy, COP for RGS is about 265 and when there is a tough paper, COP for RGS is about 262.

I think it has got to do with the \"spread\" or standard deviation. When paper is easy, the spread will be smaller so many students will be bunched together in the range of 240 to 275 making the COP of most schools to increase by 1 to 2 points as compared to a year with tough paper.
Wow!!
What about the COPs for other schools? do they typically drop too?

They are Singaporeans as well. They study here, they probably would sink roots here, just listen to what they say. So yea, my gripe is with you people not acknowledgin that the 'foreign' scholars are singaporeans too.

The foreign scholars do not acknowledge themselves as Singaporeans as well. I taught in Sec Sch where there are many foreign students and a lot of them were offered PR status due to their good results. Many took up the PR not because they feel 'Singaporean' but so that their sch fees can be subsidised. Many of them did well in 'O' level and use the result to further their studies in States. Sinking roots here? I doubt so.

Sorry, COP is not expected to drop. It is expected to increase when the paper is easy.
