Hi thanks for the info.

I have checked the link but not much details. I hope someone can share how the class is conducted. I have checked its a 1.5 hr session but not sure how long the writing and grammar are covered each session.

Anyone to share some info?

I sent my girl there and withdrew after the 2nd lesson. Do not have gd experience. However, it is quite subjective based on indiv’s experience. Also depends on so called luck when you sign up with the right teacher.

What is the reason for the withdrawal? Maybe its subjective..Can kindly tell us? Its only 2 lessons, how do you tell if the teacher is not good or suitable?? Parents are not allowed in the classroom. What bad experience have you encountered over there?? Thanks..

The 1st lesson went ok, handled by the teacher in charge. Next the 2nd lesson, the tr was not there. Lesson was conducted by a lady at the admin counter. I presumed that the tr was sick. When I passed by the classroom on my way to the toilet, I saw my child sitting and looking bored while other kids were very rowdy and not studying. I looked and realised that they were playing games. Subsequently, my child told me that they only learnt to write 1 para of compo writing comprising a few lines for about 10 min, then play hang man for the remaining lesson. I presumed that the relief tr must be some receptionist who couldn’t teach.

When I called the manager on this matter, she couldn’t answer me except that she would check with the relief tr. When I asked what happened to the existing teacher, she said that she had gone to a school to conduct enrichment class. I raised my unhappiness that I was shocked that my child’s class would not have a permament tr and that I could not see the relevance of the game for teaching el especially for playing more than 1 hour without involving all kids. I then told her that I want immediate withdrawal which she agreed. Even if the tr was absent, they should get someone qualified to cover duties or cancel the class and arrange for make up lesson. How can the school deploy the same teacher to earn double income at the expense of the students. If this is the arrangement, then should make known to parents in the first place. Find the service and qualification of tr very questionable. Wasting $ and time for me to invest in my child to play unmeaningful game costing about $35 per lesson.

My son was under this teacher too. Yes she played hangman with the class but only 3 times that year. I questioned him n he said the words were those that they used in writing. Yes I too thought she was the admin lady. But I was later told that she sits at the counter sometimes to brief some parents about award winning books.- she’s the school’s radar for quality books , coming from the GEP stream of the Raffles family herself.,My son got 18/20 for his exam under this teacher. The class did very well under her. He is now in the next level. Most of his classmates also moved on to the next level but they are under a different teacher now. I hope he does well under this teacher too, the formula looks good…
