I am not sure of maximum number of people restriction in a taxi. My first thought is you will need 2 taxis ?

Same as chergaby, we do not use airport shuttle, MTR, bus or airport express for airport transfers. It makes no sense for us since we only need 1 taxi - faster and cheaper. Hence, I have no idea why it will take 75mins for airport shuttle.

I did a quick check on your hotel location : http://www.novotel.com/gb/hotel-6771-novotel-hong-kong-nathan-road-kowloon/location.shtml
It LOOKS like it is along Nathan Road which is a main road. Weekdays traffic should be fine unless there is freak weather condition. Usually it is the small side roads which are badly jammed due to illegal parking and the numerous pedestrian crossings. For Friday evenings/night and Saturday afternoons/evening/nights, I strongly recommend avoid taking taxis.

If I were you, I will take taxi.

        Hi

I am going to HK on Christmas Eve. Any suggestions where to go during the Christmas period with 2 young kids? We will be staying at Sheraton Tsim Sha Shui.

May I know where are the factory outlets n good buys?

        Thanks.

HK taxi: Look at the digit at the back of the taxi. Normally, you see \"5\". This means it can sit 5 adults passengers.

mum2BG: I stayed in Novotel Nathan before. I took a taxi. I calculated and realised their airport shuttle is more expensive than taxi (we had 4 adults)

Just came back from HK. Weather has turned cold- in the range of 11-16 degree during my trip. With a good jacket, it was manageable when the sun is out.

Without kids, we opted for the 2 way Airport Express/MTR card which came with 3-days unlimited MTR rides at HK$300. A single trip airport express cost HK$130. The free hotel transfer from kowloon station was equally fuss-free. This was a good deal for us as we move ard hk on MTR without having to queue at the ticketing machines.

Avoid causeway bay n central on weekends if u can help it. It was extremely crowded compared to weekdays.

              vks2010,
Thank you so much for recommending the Salisbury YMCA. I asked for a higher floor room n was granted. At HK$1060 per nite, we had a very nice n clean standard room with harborfront view. I think the level n facing of the room is vital. Our room was in the north tower, high floor. The standard room came with 2 single beds, with sufficient space for an extra bed to accommodate a small family. Great hotel!

we are bringing our 1 year old to Hk in Jan 2012 and understand that it is quite cooling now . any idea where i can buy thermal wear for my 1 year old. Planning to bring him to disneyland and oceanpark ( outdoor) so want to make sure that he stay warm.

is there anything else i need to take note when bringing him there. it is his 1st flight trip so not sure what to expect

most likely to be staying at hongkong disneyland hotel and langham place so are these places child friendly ?

Personally I prefer SIA to Cathay. We tried Cathay (to HK a few yrs ago) and didn’t find them to be kids friendly. Air stewardess always in a rush and not patient enough. Not sure if others have the same experience.
