          You get me wrong. I was only trying to give Vikaesh an idea of the T-score a child actually get with 4 A* relative to the Top score in that year.

          Vikaesh was trying to estimate his T-score with certain estimated raw score. For T-score estimation, we need to relate it to the Top score in that year. That is why I highlighted the Top scores of those years where the 4 A* get about 270.

          So if the Top score this year is 290, then I expect a child with 4 A* will also get higher T-score than other years, which is why I think the cut-off point of RI will also go up this year. The scores given are for making estimation based on past actual data, not for judging whether is 270 good enough.

              There should be at least 4 such classes. These classes consist of GEP/high scorers in PSLE/those who got in thru DSA (with exception of Sports DSA). In Sec 1, the girls are allocated based on MEP/SAP/MT(Tamil & Malay). Those doing MEP/SAP grouped together in 1 class and similarly for MT.

                Do agree with you that there are more 271 and 272 in RGS. I did the estimation base on RI. Now if we look at the top 4 statistics as followed;

                School - Lowest score - Medium - Mean
                RGS----- 263------------ 268------ 269
                RI------- 262------------ 267------- 267
                HCI------ 259----------- 263 -------265
                NYGH---- 263------------266--------267

                We can see that girl has better result than boy. For RGS, since medim is 268 and mean is higher by one point, indicate that about 49% of students have score range from 268 to 272.

                So you are correct. :lol:

                  Actually different combination of subjects have different full scores, estimated as followed;

                  Combo----------Full Marks
                  M+S+EL+CL----296
                  M+S+EL+TL-----303
                  M+S+EL+ML-----309

                  So grouping in classes base on T score alone is sort of bias. 😉

                    Thanks for highlighting the \"source\" of the misunderstanding. The word \"only\" was intended to highlight that despite getting 4 A*, which to me is already very high (above 91), the marks will translate to \"only\" a T-score of 270. (Vikaesh was making a T-score estimate of 283 - which means the parameters used for the estimation are not accurate). However, probably most people have read my statement as to mean \"the T-score is only 270\".

                    Will be more careful with my words in future postings. :oops:
