Hi calling all kiasu parents, any teachers or MOE staff out there and know who is the highest MOE Official in -charge of student welfare and or bus transport, thanks in advance!!!

Most such emails will not go straight to the highest authority. Emails are usually screened by their subordinates like secretaries or PA first and at the end of the day, only a minority of the emails will be seen and read by the highest authorities, usually those of utmost importance or urgencies. Imagine if they have to go through and reply every single email themselves, I think they would still be doing this single \"job\" 24/7 and do not have to do any other work already.

Although I do not know why you have to look for the highest authority concerning the student's welfare and bus transport, but I would advise that you speak to the relevant party first and if it still cannot be resolved, you may speak to the school Principal and the Manager in-charge of that transport company.

      JMHO.

Oh! ooioo’s ‘problem’ is she is staying at Bukit Panjang/CCK/Diary Farm which is beyond 2km from RGPS but her dd has been transferred to RGPS.

Her dd’s school bus reaches school at around 6.30am.
ooioo thinks that she sch bus shld not arrive at the sch at 6.30am (too early) and deprive her gal of her sleep.

Alamak… so troublesome… search high and low to find the right person and the letter might not even reach the right person…

Just put it on the internet forums lah… the right person will automatically be informed of it…

This is ridiculous! why arrive so early? The bus needs to go fetch 2nd round to make more $$ is it?

My girls arrive in school at 6:30am everyday as well. While in our instance, we stay 10-15mins from sch… transportation service is a choice that we made and were informed of in advance with regards to their pick-up n drop-off schedule when they were awarded the tender/contract from school. While initially our girls seemed a wee sleep deprived, hubs would insist they sleep earlier everyday, he’d holler them periodically to let them know how much time they have before sleep time. On days with a lil more work from school, have them take short naps to rest n recharge to last the evening till completion of assignments. The school choice is also ours… near or far from home… we gotta work out the kinks on our end as much as posdible. We aren’t prepared to make anither school transfer. This is our girls’ second primary school. Especially in our scenario we have another baby to look after, so it’s more convenient and makes more sense for our girls to reach school n home on time on target via transport service because be it rain or shine we know our girls are already safe in school. Transport operators came into the picture informing us they already have long term contract to pick up workers (send them to work). Drivers need to also adhere to company’s schedule. It’s their rice bowl. Honestly, MOE’s highest official cannot be pondering over every child’s sleep deprivation issues. Unless we can send the children ourselves, we will still continue to let our children take the transport. If still cannot work out trpt issues, shift school nearer to home.

Definitely another viable option, if $ is no issue.

that’s what we did, move near the school… since the school is our choice (with higher chinese) and i cannot bear the sight of school bus rushing to drop off the kids and hurry to pick up factory workers.
