The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion

Hi,
Anyone knows if the TAS spelling book can be bought at Popular and has anyone seen vol 2 of creative writing book out at Popular? -
Going to Popular later, I help you check.:)
-
Just went to the popular at United Square. They are selling volume 2 of TAS’s creative book there. But no spelling book. I don’t think Popular is selling TAS’s spelling book.
-
But I saw the spelling book on sale during the last popular expo sale.

Hi,
Can anyone share what this TAS book is about? Is it different from Liza Tan creative writing books? -
TAS has 2 creative writing books, volume 1 and 2. Volume 2 just came out in Popular recently. You can go and check it out. I also heard that a few schools are using their book to teach. Holy Innocents is one of them My friend whose dd is in P6 in Holy Innocents says the whole P6 cohort is advised to get that book. Liza Tan books are also good but I find TAS volume 1 explains techniques in detail.
Not sure about Volume 2 as I have not gotten it yet. -
Thanks coolit. Told my friend about it, she has been asking me when popular sells since I cant get for her at TAS itself.
Hi cel-tang,
Liza Tan books have been around for quite a long time. They are like basics to writing, good to have. The compos in TAS’s creative writing books are more advanced kind, children write with flair. Good to have to bring child up to another level. So it depends on the needs of your child. I have both Liza Tan’s books and TAS’s books.
Liza Tan is the founder of Mexxi something, not too sure. It is a creative writing centre at Jurong. -
Those looking for creative book vol 2, I saw it at Popular City Sq mall. they put it at the assessment book section - P3 area I think.

Thanks for answering my question. I have gotten vol 1 and 2 and it is indeed good. I feel it is more suitable for p4 and above though, not p3. My kid is in p3 and it is a bit cheem for her but I still buy to keep first.

Can someone please enlighten me, what is so special about this book?
