I bought my treadmill in Dec but didnt really use it until in Feb. Yes it become a white elephant for a while but heart pain to see it staring at me reminding the $$ I had spent. I'm still doing my running at least 2x a week.. my target is to bring down to 60kg

$2,400 is on the high side for a treadmill. May I know what brand you bought? Are there any special features we should look out for when buying a treadmill?

the brand is Kettler... yup quite ex..but pay interest free installment ok lah dont feel the pinch. bought it at tampines One... but the shop has relocate.. dunno where must find the receipt to get the tel no.
feature to look for... the max wtg it can take, sturdy..when you run the Treadmill dont vibrate too much, the maximum speed. you must try before buying.

      Hi ladies,

I agree excercise is still the best.... I've 3 kids and as years went by I balloon up to 74kg. sometime in dec 2010, I decided to buy a threadmill cost $2.4k
naturally, I did use it till seriously till sometime in feb 2011...

I'm proud of myself... my current wtg is 66kg.... its really hardwork. I did at least 30min of running 2x a week. after you know how much effort is needed to burn those calories... you will watch what you eat.. now I'm even motivated to do regular excercise.. my next target wtg is 60kg. plus sign, you feel more energectic..

Wow, congrats! So you lost weight purely by cutting down on your food and running on the treadmill? May I know what you meant by using the treadmill seriously from dec to feb? That means you are no longer using it?

I've always wanted to get a treadmill but am afraid it'll become a white elephant.

    • RE: What should I do?

reading from the thread I feel that SIL taking advantage. I think someone shd slap your SIL and tell her to wake up… shifting responsiblity seems to be an easy way out… if the child continue to be rebellious, there is someone to be the scape goat for the child unacceptable behaviour and that is wld be you and hubby . anyway, she’s 19 and have her own mind.

    • RE: Investment in Silver

      financial_guru:
If you have a stock broking account that has access to US stock markets, you can buy it via yr stock broking platform.

You will hold shares in this exchange-traded fund (ETF) similar to how unit trusts work.
This ETF holds only silver assets and is priced at the silver price per ounce. (~US$30+ per share)

I know that some people bought the physical silver as investment..
not to sure how good such investment is.

    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

      linden2000:
      Alternative solution to Q2

      1st day
      Completed - 2units
      Uncompleted - 8units
      Total 10 units

      2nd day
      Completed - 2 units
      Uncompleted - 5 units
      Total 7 units

Since the total number of pieces is unchanged, equate total units on both days to a common number (lowest common multiple).

      So
      1st day
      Completed 2x7=14
      uncompleted 8x7=56
      total 70

      2nd day
      Completed 2x10=20
      uncompleted 5x10=50
      total 70

      Change in number completed =20-14=6
      so 6 units = 60
      1 unit = 10
      Total number of pieces = 70 units = 70x10= 700

      Hi,

      thank you so much !
