        LKVM:

Regarding the 2nd child and following ones they get tend to get old stuff specially when oredi the earlier child is the same sex.. like for my DS2 he still get all his clothings from DS1 cause kids grow so fast and the clothes are almost new :stupid:
I scared DS2 will think I love korkor more than him, so die die made sure that DS2 has some photos taken...so dragged my unwilling self for the same photo shoots when he was full month and 1 year. Being FTWM helps lah. But then, heart willing, body weak, so end up DS2 also don't have as many pix.

But yes, DS2 also quite poor thing, most of his stuff are hand me downs - shoes, uniform, clothes and toys. Many a time korkor get the new things - and now I can get nicer things cos theoretically can last 2 persons.

But having been a younger child myself, I will try to get some new stuff for him. It's really hateful if EVERYTHING is handmedown leh.

I actually put my boy on his WHITE nappy cloth πŸ˜› Was toying with mahjong paper but hub complained it's dirty.

new mj paper then? I thought of nappy, but a bit unsure if that white is white enough but that one a bit the small... πŸ˜‰ Never thought of clean issue cos it's only short while and not as if bb is eating from it.

Cos he got sensitive skin and MJ paper has the powdery residue when they cut the paper.

thanks, everyone! πŸ™‚ i'll try the white cloth nappy first cos i'm afraid dd2 may roll over and destroy the mahjong paper with her drool.

            Funny lah you. :rotflmao:
            schellen:
as for baby pics package, we only did tt for dd1. can't be bothered for dd2. πŸ˜‰ anyway, dd2 looks very different from her newborn pics now.
            Same here! Hahaa! :hi5:
            DD2 a lotta stuff budget, babe! πŸ˜‰

buds, i serious one leh. the amt of drool this one has...i step into a puddle of it everyday w/o fail when i carry her around my home. anyway, i think since my case isn't urgent, i better wait till she can sit properly on her own first. now, whenever i put her down, she will immediately roll over and over and over and....you get the pt.

dd2 only has one new toy, and new clothes for celebrations. but she gets 100% mommy's milk that is for her and her only. πŸ˜‰

hmm...i never noticed the residue or mebbe cos my DH's only piece of mahjong paper (kept as backdrop for his model kits during photo shoots) has been re-used many many times already.

Yes, not urgent can wait. πŸ˜‰

My DD2 could sit up already by
the time we took her bb picture
so just to make sure she didn't
fall, parent hafta just hold the
waist or bum just behind the
                stool which is placed against
                white screen.

                The photographer took like three
shots and asked me to choose
                which i wanted. DD2 looked like a
boy in all three shots so i reckon it
won't be much of a difference any
how. So we took one with her
                smiling.

After they change features again as
they grow still need another picture.
I think around 3yrs old or 4 yrs old.

Mine cost like $6 back then for 6 pics.

                  Same here. :hi5:

Though we didn't do the photo package for her from the hospital, that
included the passport photos, baby certificate and all... we took many
of our own pictures for memory. First one that time, like everything
                  must do!

Of course not EVERYTHING, dear.

She gets new books and toys. And
definitely new underwear as well. πŸ˜„
We do shop occasionally for new clothes for both of them.
We also have those occasions where we just grab what we
may happen to chance upon that is nice and value for money.
But never a fixed; every month must buy something routine...

We're planning a new bicycle for her too, when she can ride on
2-wheels. Still in practice mode now. πŸ˜„

As for hateful... hmm.. ... my girls are okay leh.

Never mentioned anything in dislike over hand me down stuff. We
get hand me downs from well-meaning friends & cousins too from
toys to shoes to clothing as well. In fact, DD1 ever said.. \"I must
take care of these things properly so DD2 can use them next time..\"
DD2 also ever shared that she cannot wait to get some stuff or
clothes handed down to her from jie2 once she comes of age
to receive them. Both DDs have told me not to waste $ buying stuff
since i don't work. Just use whatever that can still be used.

Guess having brought them to work with the underprivileged families
& kids plus our regular donations to the needy did help after all. So,
when we have $ to spare we do not mind getting them stuff since
they too never really asked for anything... πŸ˜‰ Hubs takes
care of the house and his parents on top of working alone so,
it helps if we save when we can. πŸ˜‰

Sorry hor new monitor 25hourmaid, i just reply to the short ? along
the way but i have definitely already contributed to the topic quite a
                  bit. πŸ˜‰

OT a bit here, a bit there.. schellen doesn't mind, right? πŸ™

Back to topic of passport photos, just in case, nowadays, the passport cannot be updated with new photos as the baby grows up. The old type can - just go to ICA with a new photo and it’ll be done very fast, and free.

New type can only replace with new one. So point is, try to delay making the passport until the trip is in sight.

I am lucky in that DS2’s face never change much, so his passport (taken aroudn 6-8months) can still use today (going 4 y/o). DS1’s passport had to have his picture updated when he was about 3y/o cos the face changed too much.

then lidat i sure kena have to make new one for dd2 when she's slightly older. cos dd1 and dd2 born with very very little hair (more like fuzz) so up till 3-4yo, dd1 still looked like a boy. (both look like ah pek when baby. )
