Hi Funx3,Thanks for the details.Really appreciate it.Regards,LeanneFunx3:Leanne:Hi jtoh,Thanks for sharing.Regards,Leanne
If the IP (integrated programme) school is not an independent school, for eg. Dunman, the school fees are the same as all other government schools in Singapore.Independent schools have different fees, usually about $200-300 per month.Hi Leanne,Shd be able to view in the respective sch web site.Have noted that sch fees R Dependent on Nationality as Well ....Sporean of course got the most subsidy.PR PAy more ....Foreigner from ASEAN cty Pay More More ....And Foreigner from Non-ASEAN Cty Pay Even More, Like 18k per yr But like your kids case, with EESIS subsidy of $200 per month, will relieve some financial stress By the Way, Fees for Non-Sporean year 1, has increased from next year ....
Hi, I realise many parents have downloaded the other school exam papers and I would like to offer my 2 cents which may help parents use them more effectively. There are various ways to use them and it is more effective once you to know your objective.Do not dive into it or do not allow your child to dive into it without knowing what outcome you want to achieve. There are 4 objectives (of course there are more depending on the different needs of parents and children):1. Are you preparing your child for exam condition? (assuming he knows every single concept very well and is so ready to sit for a mock exam paper.)2. Are you exposing your child to more various questions of a particular concept? (If yes, what kind of concept?)3. Are you training your child on speed? (If yes, are you tracking how much time he needs to do each question?)4. Are you training your child on accuracy? (if yes, how are you equipping your child with the skill of self-checking? Children have to master the skill of checking their own work so that they can instantly spot any error.)The common practice for anyone who got hold of the top school papers is to do from page 1 to the last page within the given time.Well, I supposed this will work and will indeed work very well for some children. However, for the other cases, some children will still have some concepts which are either unclear or misunderstood. And the more they do, the more they get stressed and confused and anxious...and their confidence drops drastically once they see many questions answered wrongly and they wonder why.My suggestion is to focus on one objective first. And that will be #2, working on the concepts first and solidifying the foundations.Yes! Selected questions from top school papers will help your child strive because once you are able to pick out the concept that your child needs help in, you will then be able to select and group questions based on that concept.#3 and #4 will come after that. And then #2 is the last one...most probably a week or two before the major exams or tests...in fact anytime, as long as you know your child is ready.John

Parents, do pop in to share tips about how you’ve found good tutors for your kids! My youngest is 14. We’ve hired tutors for mostly CL2, as well as for maths and science in the PSLE years. For evaluating tutors: for us, it’s about the feedback that they give. Are tutors sensitive, to have certain conversations out of earshot? If they notice issues like carelessness, what’s the strategy for dealing with this? Do they just give practice papers week after week, or do they also retest? For English tutors, we haven’t hired any, but I think the evaluating factors might be: how do they speak/text in casual/conversational situations, and what materials are they using? We’ve avoided model essay books Hope to hear from others!

I am thinking of enrolling my DS who is going P2 next year, with Hans at Tampines North CC. Is Han’s method like Jiang LaoShi or Berries? Can any parent share her experience about the teachers?

Hello allNot sure parents here face the problem with children mood 's swing phase, when they are overly stress, especially for the upper primary children. One moment, they can be your best child, can see that they are coping so well, next moment, everything just goes wrong. How do you cope with this phase, especially when there are lots of work to be completed and yet it seems too overwhelming.or there is basically not much work, just that they are not in the "study mood"One more question, do u face problem like if allows a child to attend too many parties as in friend’s bday party and some extra fun activities, they tend to be very distracted and unfocu in their usual routine.I see this in my child.Any parents here face the same problem?Thank you for reading.
